I’m Jason. I started Longfield to build a small group of great businesses, acquired one at a time and owned for the long haul. My career has spanned recruiting, finance, sales and operations: finding and keeping good people, reading the numbers and helping businesses run better. I believe the team is the business, and I intend to treat yours that way.
Building runs in my family. It started on a farm on Karmøy, off Norway’s west coast, and ran through my grandfather’s jewelry and watch store in Minnesota. Longfield is named after that farm, and it’s where I’m putting that inherited passion to work: to build something good.
How I work is simple. Good businesses are built by people, not spreadsheets. Quick decisions and straight answers are a form of respect. And the best deals are the ones both sides are still glad they made years later.
At home it’s my wife, Brittnie, and our two daughters. They’re why I think in decades, not quarters.
Seven generations on a farm and fishery on Norway’s coast, then a home builder and a watchmaker in Minnesota, and a leader in airline service in Phoenix. Build something, take care of it, hand it on.
D.L. in Morse code, for my grandfather Donald Langager, a U.S. Navy signalman in World War II.
