For owners

Built for every season.

A clear, confidential path from the first call to the day you hand over the keys, run by the person who will own your business.

Summer · the field

Patient, hands-on work. Careful diligence, clear terms and steady operating discipline.

Winter · the sea

Resilience when conditions change. We plan to hold through good years and lean ones.

The idea

On Norway’s west coast, families farmed in summer and fished through winter. Two kinds of work, one steady household. We own businesses the same way, measured in decades, not quarters.

“Planting and harvest, summer and winter, will never stop.”
Genesis 8:22, paraphrased
How a sale works

Clear steps. No surprises.

Timing varies by business and financing. What doesn’t vary: you’ll always know where things stand and what comes next.

After closing

A 3–12 month owner transition, planned around you.

You introduce us to your team and key customers and share what you know, at a pace and level of involvement agreed before closing.

Common questions

What owners ask first.

What happens to my employees?

Our intent is to keep your team together. We buy businesses because of the people who built them, and we don’t acquire companies planning to cut staff. Over time any business changes, and when it does we’ll make those decisions carefully, with the team in mind.

Will you keep the name?

That’s our strong preference. Your customers know and trust it, and that reputation is part of what we’re buying.

Will my business be one of several?

Over time, yes. Longfield is built to own several companies, but we buy one at a time and only when we can give it full attention. Each business keeps its own name, team and identity; Longfield adds long-term ownership, capital and support behind it.

How involved do I stay after the sale?

We plan a 3–12 month transition around you, agreed before closing. Some owners step back quickly; others stay longer to introduce us to the team and customers.

How do you pay for the business?

Typically a mix of bank or SBA financing, our own capital, investor capital where needed and, in some cases, seller financing. We’ll walk you through the structure before any offer.

Is this confidential?

Yes. We sign an NDA before you share anything, and we won’t contact your employees, customers or suppliers without your permission.
